So in my attempt to get fit and healthy and STAY fit and healthy I am going to be linking up with Running Backwards in High Heels for the 8 week Weight Loss Challenge! So expect some sort of updates or fitness related posts every Thursday when we link up. Next Thursday I will def update and then maybe tell a little bit of how I got so unhappy and uncomfortable in my body.
I have talked about working out and eating right on my blog the past couple of weeks and I really want to do this challenge and see how much is gone in 8 weeks. I know this sounds crazy but there is this one lump of fat (sorry, bad mental image) on my upper right thigh in the back (close to my butt I guess) and I would really like for it to be GONE in 8 weeks. I also have a wedding to be in just a little over 8 weeks so this will work out nicely.
Unlike some, I am just starting my weight loss journey and have much more weight to lose than others. I have several things that I am going to be doing as far as exercising. It’s my goal to do all of them, at least once a week even though some like walking/running will be more than once a week. Here are some of the things I am going to be doing to get my heart pumping…
Numero Uno: RUN. I am trying to train for a 5k (I really want to do one before the end of the summer but May is booked and June is filling up pretty fast and then July and August are so stinking hot in Alabama). Basically, RunKeeper is my bff every afternoon when I get home from work.
Love this. Always make time for running!
Numero Dos: ZUMBA. I know I have had this since Christmas and not done it once {guilty conscience now kicks in} and it has been nearly a year since I have done Zumba with Amber. If this doesn’t get me burning, then I don’t know what will!
It really is as fun as it looks!
Numero Tres: Wii Fit. It’s just fun… I don’t think it will help me actually get rid of extra lbs but I think it will help me with toning some of the jiggles.
I am thinking some yoga tonight.
Numero Quatro: Shakeweight. It burns but I can feel my arms tightening and when it hurts I imagine skinny arms. I like to call it operation skinny arm because my arms are flabby and need some toning!
And shake......
Any other work out suggestions? I know a lot of people do the 30 day shred which I might research. I also have several other workout dvd’s including the Skinny Bitch: Booty Bounce dvd and the Kim Kardashian workout. If anyone else is doing this challenge please let me know! I want to stay in touch with others doing the challenge so I can see what you all are up to!!

I am going to do "again" the 30 day shred. Jillian is my best & worst friend at times :) I love Zumba, I heard they have one for the Wii, I am going to have to check that out. Good Luck - You can DO IT!!
30 day shred is a great work out and apparently people see results. I have the DVD, but am so much more motivated to work out hard if I am at the gym. I tried Zumba for the first time this week and I loved it. Also, c25k is good for running, especially if you are trying to train for a 5k. I have this DVD called Skinny Sculpt with Ellen Barrett. It is low impact but it definitely works your arms.
