Birchbox

I gave into the blogosphere's pressure and signed up for Birchbox after seeing rave reviews. I got my first Birchbox in the mail last week. I was so stinkin' excited. Since I signed up I have been counting down the days til I got my first box of samples.

As I excitedly opened it I hoped for many things... This is what I got.

I am going to be honest. I was a leetle teensy bit dissapointed with my box. Firstly, I already have Kate Spade twirl.  A whole bottle of it. I was excited about the "extra" which was the hair tie that I looooooove and will be purchasing more of.

I used the facial cleanser and the night cream the other night when I got out of the shower. I wasn't blown away but it was a nice product and I am going to continue using the night cream and see what happens. In other words: I am not giving up yet!

Do any of you subscribe to Birchbox? If so, what is your favorite item you have gotten so far?

ps. I am almost to 100 followers! Let's get there and I will host another giveaway!

Toms Time

A lot of people REALLY do not like Toms. They aren't the most attractive style of shoe, I admit. But IMO, they look cute with a pair of skinny jeans. They are also fun and let's admit it's the only style shoe you can get away with in a glittery or funkadelic print. I often wear mine (gold glitter) on casual fridays at work with jeans. I am thinking about investing in a new pair.

I wanted a leopard pair when those first came out and then I procrastinated til I could no longer get them anymore. Now to my surprise:

Pink Leopard Toms, I am in love!

These new ones are also really cute --
Houndstooth just in time for football season but there is almost too much white, agree? I don't like houndstooth prints where there is just as much white was black. They would probably get super dirty.

Who rocks Toms ? Who hates them? Tasteful or Tacky? I think they are just fun!

Summer TV

I admit, Summer TV is odd.

All my norm shows are on a hiatus and the "summer" shows come back on. I am always sad to see Desperate Housewives take a break (which after this season will be a permanent break, insert sad face) but more than happy to welcome others.

Let's see we have my all time favorite Big Brother, which is what I am currently watching 3 nights a week. Let's talk BB. The season's dynamic duos and golden key was an interesting choice. I am going to talk about some key players. If I don't mention a HG then I probably don't think they are very important or relevant or have an opinion on them. sorry if I leave out one of your faves :)

Meet this season's houseguests minus Keith, Cassi, Dominic and Brendon

I was soo happy to see Jeff & Jordan back in the BB house. I love them, they are 2 of my fave Big Brother players since I started religiously watching -- I think it was season 8. America loves them. Everyone wants to be on Jeff and wants to be Jordan.

Jordan in her unitard. Unitards are infamous in the BB house. She won this one in this weeks POV competition.

Jeff sans shirt. He is easy on the eyes, fa sho.

Brenchel sucks. Brendon is dumb, Rachel is annoying. I can't stand to hear Brendon talk about his undying love for Rachel or how she is his heart. She obviously wasn't in his heart when he was having his skype affair.

Meet Brenchel aka "The Ratings" for CBS

This season Brenchel had a BB wedding complete with trashbag tuxedo and wedding dress

Shelly is the ultimate game player/manipulator. Some people might not like her but she's playing the game well, until she gets caught and everyone hates her. She's a bit manly at times but I think she's overall playing a good game until this past week when she actually got caught in some of her lies.

Sheldon and a puppy dog.

Dani.... I don't know what to say. Love her. Hate her. I am stuck. She plays a fiesty game that's for sure. Ironically the first season I really truly watched, enjoyed and watched the entire season was Daniele's first season in the BB house.

I feel like this is a classic Dani face

Porsche. Something about her, maybe it's her name, screams hooker/stripper. On the first episode when she says she didn't want everyone to be jealous that she was a VIP cocktail waitress and think her life was too luxurious, I died a little on the inside. Then I LOL'ed very loudly.

Adam. The sheer irony in this houseguest is insanely hilarious. He loves 90210, death metal and is a BB Super Fan. He had to wear an elf suit for a week. He is now sans the facial hair which looks mucho better.

Okay, theres my Big Brother spill. Expect more the rest of the summer!!!!

Fall Lilly Must Haves!

Something about Lilly Pulitzer and Fall doesn't go together, but the genius designers seem to pull it off.

I can take some of it and I can certainly leave some of it. Cute stuff and some so so.

However, Lilly has a leopard print and all is right in this world according to Mwah.

I have acquired a list of things I want. I already have my fall list ready before Summer has even gone on sale! I plan on hitting the summer online sale up, I do I do.

Let's get started on my wish list...

Starting with accessories because they are super fun.

Tusk Tusk Cuff - perf for football season

Skinny Bow Belt - adore!
I love bows, almost as much as leopard print.

Now to the necessities

Cassie Slub in Cameo White Thrill Of The Chaise

Sadie Dress in Skye Blue Thrill of The Chaise

Cissy Skirt in Bright Navy Break a Leg

Kelsi Dress in Standing Ovation

This Christy Shirt Dress is on my sister's  list

So many more I really like that are not available online but I have seen in trunk show pictures and seen in the fall catalog. As far as the murfees go, I am so far NOT IMPRESSED! Sooo sad too, cause I love scarves! What fall styles are my fellow Lilly lovers leaning towards?

Couponing with Lindsey!

So yes, this post is going to be about couponing. Brace yourself! I have never done a post on one of my favorite hobbies so here we go...

(I feel like I finally have some topics to blog about :) Maybe my posts won't be too far and in between for awhile now.)

Okay, back to couponing. As I have stated many times via my blog, facebook, twitter, etc I love couponing and was what my dad called "addicted" a while back (I don't believe in addiction so I just think I simply enjoyed it, very much).

For awhile I was solely couponing to help Tornado victims and donated all of my loot. Then I realized I was getting things for practically free that I could use personally. So then I started keeping and stocking up on things that I knew I would need. Mainly tolietries because they have the best coupons and also men's tolietries as well and passed them along to my dad and grandfather (they were free so I could be nice!).

Well now I am trying to implement couponing into things that I really need (and things that I need to stock up up) and make it more worthwhile and beneficial for myself and my aunt (whom I live with). Not having to buy toothpaste since like April has been really nice, same with having a drawer full of body washes and shaving creams. But I want to start getting other things we really need, if not for free, then at a cheaper price!

I went to CVS the other day and this was my haul for $22 and some change and I also got back $8 in Extra Care Bucks

This week CVS has a promo going on where if you buy $30 of specific items you get a $10 gas card in return, which is what I am trying to get but also do it wisely and only get things that are needed and will not go to waste. Fortunately these items included the Cheerios (2/$5), the special K/Nature Valley Bars (2/$5) as well as the toothpaste (3/$5). We needed all 3 of these things (even the toothpaste cause we were running low!!!)

Everything I bought I had a coupon for and even had store and manufacturer coupons for some things. For example, the maybelline falsies mascara. It was bogo 50% off and I had 2  $1 off any Maybelline product (manufacturer coupon) and then the magic coupon machine at the front of CVS spit me out the "mystery" beauty coupon for this week and it was $1 a Maybelline or Almay product so I was able to get another $1 off. I also went on the P&G Website and wrote them telling them how much I apparently love Covergirl and they sent me a free coupon for any covergirl product which I used on the covergirl mascara and eyeliner duo (I found the most expensive covergirl product that I knew I would be able to use).

I also break up my coupons into a few transactions so that I am able to use the $4 of $20 purchase coupons that I always get on my receipts!

I feel like I am blabbing a bunch of non-sense to those who don't coupon, don't care or want to learn about couponing but I wanted to share some bargains. Enjoy and feel free to ask any questions if you would like some couponing help. I can't guarantee that I will quickly respond buuuut I will try to within the next millenium (kid kid).

Guess What!

Guess who is coming back?

Lilly Pulitzer is coming back to Rue La La this FRIDAY!

 Mark your calendars, ladies.

If you aren't a Rue La La Member (remember, it's a members only shopping site) you can click here and get an invitation from yours truly :)

Speaking of Lilly... I have a few pics to share from this past weekend when I went to Panama City with my sister and aunt. It was nice to see my sis cause I wasn't sure if I would see her this weekend for her 17th birthday!

Hannah was so hot, eating at Margaritaville on Fri. night!

Me standing by the Lilly Pulitzer Palm Tree at Barefoot Princess in Watercolor Beach. We had to stop in a Lilly via store! We went to Barefoot Princess in Watercolor and the one in Baytowne Wharf in SanDestin

Me and Hannah (w/her eyes closed) at Baytowne Wharf

Since we are feeling Lilly-ish ... Check out what I wore yesterday to work.
Me wearing a Navy V-Neck and Avery Skirt in Classic White Falling In Love

Aside from Lilly P and beach trippin' it... I have been meaning to blog about some of my summer tv shows. I will get to that asap, whenever I have some time!

Buuuut I wanted to let the blogosphere know -- I am going to a Big Brother Open Casting Call here in Birmingham on Friday (if all goes as planned) and I am so excited slash nervous. We are a family of Big Brother fans (like  religiously watched since season 1) and ever since I have really been into watching BB (about season 7 or 8) I have aspired to be a houseguest. Luckily, my parents 100% support this reality television journey. Think a warm fuzzy for me or say a little prayer on Friday. This is definitely something I really really want to do :)

I now pronounce the lockout lifted

This post is for those who felt like the draft was wayyyy more important than the Royal Wedding.

Yay the NFL lockout is over!!!

No more worrying, my dear football fans.

In this part of the country (the dirty dirty south) we MAINLY stick to College football (ahem, Roll Tide) buuut when it comes to NFL, there's only one team for me and that's WHO DAT!

I found this little geographical map by NFL team and found it very true & uber appropriate for this post.

Accurate. Quite accurate. I love to see that most of Alabama is BLACK AND GOLD. There are a lot of Falcons fans here, too. The few Cowboys fans and random Titans fans but that's about it. The one thing I don't like to see is the large portion of the country that is considered Bronco's fans. Eeew. If there is one thing, I mean person, I can't stand in this world it's Timothy Tebow (vom... gag...).

Did you also see the new NFL stuff for VS Pink? So cute... I saw it on someone else's blog and could not find it online but I am happy to see some Saints apparel. About dang time. Reigning Super Bowl champs did NOT have any apparel last year, what the junk was up with that. Now I can wear VS Pink Saints style and support Mark Ingram!

Who is your NFL team? ?

I will leave you with a Geaux Saints and a Who Dat!
