It's my blogoversary! And I have a surprise for you!

I can't believe I have been blogging a whole year. Well, it's been a year with ups and downs and fun times along the way. I set out on this blogging journey not sure what I wanted to accomplish, just wanting a creative outlet. Still 1 year later, very content with my blog. I don't care if I have 3,000 followers or 100. As long as people are still reading (and they are!) I will continue blogging until I have something more meaningful to do with my time (jokes).

My followers mean a lot to me and given me much joy and comfort over the past year. You comment and I love to read your comments. Some of you follow me on twitter and encourage and comfort me.

So in celebration of my blog and as a gift to my blog's readers I have 7 days of Blogoversary giveaways! Starting today I will have a giveaway every day. You are going to LOVE them!

Without further adieu I present my first giveaway of the week....

One lucky reader will win
a customized 12x24 piece of art by Twiggy Originals!

"An artist who lights up the room with her exuberant paintings and personality, Carla Terwilleger, better known as “Twiggy”, has knocked the smocks off the art world by bringing to life her own colorful versions of the femme fatales. Born from doodles on cocktail napkins, Twiggy’s femme fatales command attention – and fascination – with their stunning beauty, sultry curves and haute sense of style. Battling a coquettish eye and brandishing a chilled martini glass, each one exudes irresistible glamour.
Twiggy’s femme fatales, along with birds and other colorful subjects, have been featured in more than 30 exhibits and several major publications. To date, more than 2000 original works have been sold, including multiple large commissions, and most recently she has created a line of prints, sold exclusively at Regalo in Louisville, KY.
Although her heart will always be in the Bluegrass, Twiggy currently lives in Los Angeles, where she can usually be found either painting in her studio with her kittens, Coco Chanel and Vera Wang, or out on the town with her always-captivating and inspirational cadre of friends."

A customized piece by Twiggy Originals is just enough room to showcase your personal style - outfit; cocktail/no cocktail; clutch; ect. and is valued at $150.

HOW LUCKY IS THE WINNER GOING TO BE? I am already jealous of her. Twiggy is an amazing artist. These are SO CUTE!

Sales lately

One thing I love is shopping. One thing I love even MORE are sales.

When I say sales I mainly mean ONLINE sales. I can't stand clearance racks at stores or Tj Maxx, Marshall's, etc. They give me anxiety. Seriously.

Lilly Pulitzer had their New Year Cheer sale which was seriously awesome. Here are some of the amazing things I snagged at excellent prices... when I say excellent, I mean it!

Let's see what I got...

Elsa in Starry Blue Drama Queen
*I am obsessed with the Elsa now and want one in as many colors and prints as possible!
Murfee scarf in Multi Optical Confusion
*coveted murfee I have wanted for awhile at a great price -- couldn't resist!

Breast Cancer Awareness murfee -- a price I couldn't resist and supports a great cause. Not to mention pink and green!

2011 Lilly Pulitzer Ornaments because next year I plan to have a Lilly tree. Oh and they were cheap!

Speaking of Lilly I am in a contest over at The Island - A Lilly Pulitzer Signature store. All you have to do is comment on MY PICTURE on their page. You can go to my picture by clicking here ... I would appreciate this so much. I would L-O-V-E to win. You can reward me now because in a few days I will be rewarding you all big time ;) hehe

Did any of you girls shop the Lilly Pulitzer sales lately? There have been quite a few between corporate, via and signature stores. I would love to hear what you all got!

Let's talk about some important things

It's no secret (especially if you follow me on twitter) that I love the Bachelor/Bachelorette .

I'd like to just post about how precious Ben is. Precious like a little lamb! I am concerned about him though. Too many women up to NO GOOD.

Instead I can only think of how much I dislike one Bachelorette in particular. You ladies know who I'm talking about...

Evil in human form! Courtney... yuck.

I really love some of the girls though.... surprisingly my favorites are not blonde.

Jennifer and Kacie B are two of my favorites. I think they are sweet and genuine and would make good gal pals for Ben F.

I know who Ben F. chooses and I am not going to say if I am yay or nay on it because that might just give it away.

But the best and most outstanding news in my opinion is something that came out this week. Emily Maynard is the next Bachelorette! OMG I can't tell you how excited I am... seriously. I may or may not have been seriously obsessed with her during Brad's (2nd) season. She is so precious. Kind of precious in an i-wanna-pinch-her-cheeks kind of way. Seriously. She is cute, sweet, southern and has great style!

Let my sick addiction to reality television continue. Cheers to the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise! I applaud you for filling my week nights with crying, cat fights and cattyness. I adore every bit of your cliche and predictableness. I can always depend on you (for having atleast 2 dates where they rock climb, repel, etc or a helicopter coming in and taking the couples away). Thanks for everything.

Love,
Loyal Fan

The Road to 14

In case you didn't know it, (maybe you were watching The Bachelor) last night the Alabama Crimson Tide played the LSU Tigers in the BCSNCG. The Tide, who triumphed over the Tigers with a 21-0 score, is bringing the crystal trophy back to the great state of Alabama for the 3rd year in a row (2010 Auburn had the honors).

Despite being the "under dog" (when I say that, I mean the lower ranked team) we were favored to win going into the game. It did come as a shock to me when we stayed on top the entirety of the game. I thought they would atleast give us a run for their money.

It came down to who wanted it more. The Tide did. We don't take losing easy. The three point difference from the Tide and Tigers first meeting this season left a bitter taste in the players mouths. I think they went out there looking for revenge. You know the saying, victory is sweet but revenge is sweeter? Well I have 3 words for you: 5th of November.

I'm not sure how to describe being a Crimson Tide fan. Every team has comraderie and  traditions but there is an extra sparkle in Bama's eye. Being an Alabama fan... well, It's amazing and I wouldn't trade it for any other fan base in the world.

Speaking of fans... it occured to me in 2009 how much one very special person in my life and one of the biggest Tide fans, would have love to have seen the Saban days (although he saw and attended  nearly every game during the Bear Bryant era). I just know my Poppa is grinning ear to ear today.

He had a much better view of the game though. No, he did not watch the game on his HD flat screen or have 50 yard line tickets (but at Bryant Denny he did!) he watched down from Heaven. He might have even watched with Bear Bryant and shook his hand after the game. But he wasn't much of a showboat. He probably watched it with a few close pals and afterward had himself some pickle juice (a cocktail of sorts).

The past 24 hours have been filled with a lot of pride and even emotion. I have a few things to say...

To all the haters, Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my team the center of your conversation. It's people like you who make my team want to win even more than they are already naturally inclined to.

To all the Auburn fans who actually showed some class, pride and dignity... thank you, too! It's fans like you who make me proud to be a fan of an SEC team. Afterall we are the greatest conference.

To my fellow Alabama fans, words can't say it. I love you. Yes, each and every one of you. For believing in our team, being a fan during the good times and the bad (dare I mention the Franchione-Shula years) and for cheering our team on to victory at every. single. game.
Last but not least.... My main man

2011 in review

Well 2011 was quite the year. It was an odd year for me. Lots and LOTS of changes and growth. I wanted to share some of my highlights. Oh and notice all the "changes" lol

I started the year off in Disney World.

I spent NYE in Hollywood Studios and New Years Day in the Magic Kingdom!

I had my first company meeting with the company I work for... 70's theme. Woot.

Then came Mardi Gras!

Ashley, Me, Amy and Shannon before the Conde Cavaliers ball. Can I hashtag on my blog? Because it was #somuchfun #asalways. It was my 3rd year to go to the Conde ball.

My friend, Elizabeth turned 21 in The Big Easy

Get it, Guh!

We had a BLAST!

I think Lizzy had a great birthday on Bourbon Street.

Then I went to Vegas! and had AN AMAZING TIME!

Saw Glee LIVE!

Oh, that's Mike Chang and Sam right there NEXT TO ME.

The my friend Lauren Paige got married and we all headed west to Mississip

3 of her MobTown bridesmaids :)

Uh-Oh, Guess What! Amber is pregnant. Baby Pritch is on the way.

Wedding time! This bridey drug us all to Mississippi and it was HOT AS BALLS (as I love to say).

Before we knew it, it was time for Amber's baby shower...

Next thing I knew, I was an aunt. My step-sister gave birth to her son on September 12, 2011!

Meet Landon Jayce. He's a cutie pie and has my heart!

Jet-setting back to Disney World in time for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party was on the agenda.

Let's not forget football season. Here, there and inbetween!

My sister came up for some games.... Roll Tide to that.

Oh and what do you know?!?! Baby Bryson has arrived.
Stopping in on this sweet little family.

What a year (and that is not even including Thanksgiving and Christmas)

Time truly flies. Hope everyone of your years was as wonderfully blessed as mine!

New Years resolutions

I would love to post about Christmas (and WILL later) but for now I want to start the year off with my resolutions.

1. Financial peace. Okay, maybe not exactly the kind of peace that Dave Ramsey talks about but if I could get atleast half way there, I would be happy. I have to work on saving money and spending more wisely.

2. Getting fit. Note, I said "Getting fit" not "lose weight". I just want to be happy in my body. I have kept 30lbs off for almost a year and it's time to just dig back into the workout and healthy eating regime. For me, my health oh and my sanity.

3. Health. This is actually my number 1 goal. I want to be the healthiest me I can be. I have lots of dr appointments that I MUST GET DONE in the 1st quarter of the year. I wait too long on things then I end up with a mess, like my recent dentist visit. Might I add, my first visit in 9 years. (don't even jump on me, I am terrified of the dentist).

4. Gain knowledge. I have talked on here before how I do want to go to grad school. I am not sure what the plans are for me as far as higher education goes (maybe I want to go and get a 2nd bachelors?) but I know 2012 is the year of knowledge for me. I also want to do training in my professional area which hopefully my job will allow and provide for me.

5. Branch out. I tend to do the same things, every week and weekend and heck, even everyday. I want to branch out and do new things, meet new people, you get the picture, right? You only live once, so what's the point in living a monotonous life?

6. Promote my personal business. I really want to start doing more free-lance design work. It would definitely build my portfolio and help me grow as a designer!

These are just a few of the things I want to accomplish in 2012. I try to shoot for realistic goals.

What are some of your resolutions?

eShakti Review!

Not too long ago I was contacted by a women's clothing company called eShakti! I was asked to review a product and blog about it. I browsed their website and quickly agreed.

I did not just agree because I wanted to review a product but because I thought eShakti was a very unique company.

eShakti allows their shoppers to purchase clothing in two ways. 1. You can just order your normal size or 2. You can have it customized to your own measurements!

That is so cool and something that you do not see offered very often.

So I chose this cape....

I had been wanting a cape and I must say it took absolutely no deliberation on my part.

I chose to get a regular size (I actually do not agree with their sizing chart because I ended up with a size 2 sizes larger than my own based on the measurements and the cape was a tad on the large size but still worked because it was a cape and it really doesn't matter. ya dig?)

I was extremely impressed with the quality of the product. This is a VERY nice cape. It is also very warm. I don't think it is one of those clothing items that I will wear a few times and it wears out. It seems like an extrememely quality product. Kudos!

It also arrived very quickly.... Another kudos.

The only thing I would change about this cape (and I plan on getting my grandmother to do this) would be a clasp or hook on the inside of the front so that it doesn't fly open.

Let's break it down!
Pro's:
Quality product
Made nicely
made with nice materials
warm
Speedy arrival
Excellent customer service
Con's:
Sizing
No hook on the front
Overall the Pro's outweighed the Con's.
Everytime I wear it I get compliments. Even from my Dad!
*This was a sponsored post. Opinions are 100% my own.  I was not paid or compensated for my time or writing this post. I was only allowed to keep the product I reviewed.

I am alive!

To all my blog friends: I am alive!

Sorry for the lack of blogging but the Holidays and my work has consumed me. I have been non-stop busy and when I wasn't I was honestly enjoying being lazy.

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas (or Hannukah if that is what you celebrate) and I hope you are all enjoying the New Year. I have so much to blog and talk about and I can't wait to get on it. I will have another post tonight and will be resuming normalcy within the next few days.

When I say normalcy, please bear with me. Because January and February are the busiest months in the travel industry. Guess who works in travel? Yeah, Me. So my posts might not be as frequent as I like but I am still here, don't give up on me!

I am looking forward to another year of blogging with all of you. Speaking of, I have my 1 year blogoversary coming up at the end of the month and I am brewing up something spectacular to celebrate. Stay tuned for that.

Thanks to all of my followers! Love to all of you :)
